Client FAQ - Priori

Client FAQ

Priori is the legal marketplace changing the way in-house teams find, hire and manage outside counsel. Listed below are the top four things you should know when getting started on our platform. If you have any further questions, please contact us.

Q: What services do we offer?

Priori offers the following services to in-house legal teams:

  • Projects. Get access to experienced legal professionals for specialized projects, transactions, local expertise and litigation. Examples: M&A counsel for an acquisition in California, local real estate counsel in Texas, specialist litigators for a case in New York.
  • People. Connect with junior and senior legal professionals for overflow work and temporary on- and off-site placements. Examples: Temp attorneys for vacation and leave coverage, commercial attorneys for 20 hours per week of overflow contract support.

Q: How do I get started?

Get started at www.priori.com and our interactive questionnaire will guide you in preparing a customized RFP for your legal project:

Once submitted, we will review the RFP and send you a custom proposal with lawyers who match your requirements.

Q: How do I hire an attorney?

Once you receive your proposal, you can compare your lawyer matches side-by-side and quickly schedule interviews with your preferred attorney(s).

If you connect with a prospective attorney and would like to engage them, message the lawyer from your account dashboard to request a formal proposal. You will be notified by email when the proposal is ready.

If you accept the proposal, your lawyer will be notified by email and provided with your contact information to start work. Each new open project will also appear as a card on your account dashboard.

For any new projects working with the same lawyer, you do not need to submit a new RFP. Simply request that the lawyer open a new project for you on our platform. This process does not require you to accept a proposal to hire the attorney for the new engagement.

Important: If an attorney requires you to sign an engagement letter they may send that letter to you directly before beginning work.

Q: How does billing work?

Priori clients are charged a composite rate for projects initiated on our platform. The composite rate is displayed on our platform at all times. It is comprised of the lawyer's legal fees plus the Priori management fee for the use of our platform. The formula is:

Composite Rate = Lawyer's Legal Fees + Priori Management Fee

Unless your company has made alternative arrangements with Priori, invoices for projects initiated on the Priori platform will be sent to you by email. The standard billing period is between the 1st and the 7th of each month for the preceding month’s work. You will be notified by email when an invoice is ready. Payment is due within 14 days and may be made by credit card or linked bank account / ACH.
